A. I have read it and it is one of the best books I have read (House of Mirth by Wharton is one of my absolute favourites). It deals a lot with the way women in the society of the time were constrained by appearance and social status whereas men were not as limited. It also deals with the scandal of a woman leaving her husband because he was cruel (abusive) to her and how this was frowned upon because divorce was not approved of. It contains a bit of a romantic triangle between a man and two women. Anyhow, it's good. There is a lot to it and it is hard to explain.
