From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. The Indo-European languages are a family (or phylum) of several hundred related languages and dialects, including most major languages of Europe, Iran, and India, and historically also predominant in Anatolia and Central Asia. Attested since the Bronze Age, in the form of Mycenaean Greek and Anatolian languages, the Indo-European family is significant to the field of historical linguistics as possessing the longest recorded history after the Afroasiatic family. The languages of the Indo-European group are spoken by approximately three billion native speakers, the largest number of the recognised families of languages. They were nomads who entered India from the northwest. They came from Central Asia, most likely from what is now Iran or Afghanistan. They were either white or at least fair skinned. Q. Aren't the Finns Nordic Scandinavians? Thus Germanic? Thus Indo-European? I'm not understanding this. are they classified as Ethnic Europeans? if not why are the Swedes, Danes, Norwegians classified as Europeans and not Finns? aren't they the same ethnic Nordic race? wtf are you talking about? and how is America even involved in my question? it's not, so don't answer if you don't know what you're talking about. Rather than speaking "Indo-European" (or "Aryan") languages they speak languages called "Finno-Ugrian" instead. The Basques in northern Spain / southwestern France are the only other group of Europeans whose language does not belong to the Indo-European family. There is a close linguistic relationship between Finnish, Estonian and Livonian (spoken in western Latvia) but their relationship to Lappic (or Saami) spoken in Norway and Hungarian is more distant.
