You Don’t Need to Drop $1,000 on a New iPhone

As a company, Apple is a master at two very distinct things: the first being their ability to make our jaws drop at their price tags, and the second being convincing us to buy their products anyway. With Apple’s newly unveiled iPhone XS being sold at a whopping $1,000, it doesn’t seem like the company is going to change directions any time soon.

Despite asking for a lot, it looks like Apple will retain its status as the top supplier of smartphones anyway. Considering the way most people use smartphones, there is little doubt that the company is primarily benefiting from their image and marketing strategies. Face it — the average iPhone user isn’t using his or her phone for something the average Samsung Galaxy user can’t do. Nevertheless, Apple continues to outmatch its competitors.

But, what if you didn’t have to drop a whole $1,000 to acquire the latest iPhone’s capabilities? For those that don’t want to fork up quite as much cash up front, Apple has the iPhone XR for $749. But, what are iPhone XS customers getting for that extra $251?

According to the review below, not a whole lot. In fact, CNBC Technology Product Editor Todd Haselton doesn’t expect the layman to notice a meaningful difference at all.
