YouTube is Now YouCash

Achieving fame and fortune is not easy. Ask the thousands of out of work actors and musicians. YouTube is how some have achieved fame in the past. Users would upload funny or astonishing videos and go viral with millions of views.  Never before have any of those users been able to make money off their web hits. There only hope was to cross over from internet to tv or radio.

Over the last few years YouTube has been focusing on ways it’s users can monetize their videos. Last year they announced a new program called YouTube Partnership Program. The program allows users with the most popular viral videos like this or this or this one, to make money from the ads running next to their videos. Users whose videos become internet sensations are invited into the program by staff at YouTube.

According to YouTube, “To determine whether a particular video is eligible for monetization, we look at factors like the number of views, the video’s virality and compliance with the YouTube Terms of Service. If your video is eligible for monetization, you will receive an email and see an “Enable Revenue Sharing” message next to your video on the watch page, as well as in other places in your account.”

Once accepted into the program users will get monthly checks from Google’s Adsense program based on the ads running next to their video. Not a bad way to make some cash if you can. Just ask David Devore of Orlando, FL. Last year he posted a video on YouTube of his son feeling the effects of dental anesthetic. David copyrighted his “David After Dentist” video and has made more than $40,000 from YouTube ad revenue and merchandising. Not bad for a uploading a video you wanted to share with friends.

But this isn’t the only way to make cash using YouTube. Recently YouTube announced plans to allow users to charge rental fees for the videos they upload. This is a huge departure for YouTube who has always relied on free content from its users to generate revenue from advertising. The rental plan is still in the planning stages and not available yet but now users will have two ways to make money from YouTube.

If you look there are always ways to make cash online. YouTube is finally capitalizing on its intense popularity and it has now turned the tables to allow its users to make money from them! Grab your video camera and make an easy how to video or show off your kids talent. I know that if this lady can do it, we all can!
